Design and Testing of a New Bionic Corn-Ear-Picking Test Device

A new bending fracture principle is proposed for ear picking by simulating the process of manually breaking off corn cobs. Based on this, a test device was designed to obtain relationship between ear-picking rate and rotational speed snapping rollers, as well feeding speed. mechanical conducted at two different harvesting stages. This proved that tensile force used in considerably greater than associated with fracture, regardless whether it silage or mature corn. Moreover, feasibility working tentatively verified verification test. Then, could be achieved using less damage occurring ears straw, according picking. Finally, range analysis showed highest obtained roller 780 r/min 1.5 (m/s), 40° angle rollers conveyor. Thus, this study provides reference further development harvester silage.
